Start here checklist
This is the canonical setup path for a new Telisky customer. Follow it in order the first time you bring an RC500 router online. If an email, portal empty state, installer handoff, or teammate sends you to a “first router” guide, start here.
Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”- Customer Owners and Admins setting up the first router.
- Invite recipients who need to confirm they joined the right organization or site.
- Installers who are helping bring the router online without using a customer’s password.
- Viewers who want to understand what a healthy first setup looks like.
If Telisky or an installer is doing part of the work for you, use this checklist to know what they need from you and how to confirm the result in the Telisky cloud portal.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- Your Telisky invite email, existing Telisky account, or first-owner setup instructions from Telisky.
- The organization or site name you expect to see in the Telisky cloud portal.
- The RC500 router, power supply, antennas, and any SIM or Ethernet connection supplied for the installation.
- The router label, serial, MAC, or deployment packet used to identify the router.
- An MDM attach code if your Telisky contact or admin asks you to attach the router during setup.
- The support channel your Telisky contact gave you, in case setup does not finish.
Who does what
Section titled “Who does what”| Responsibility | Customer Owner or Admin | Installer | Telisky |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account access | Accepts the invite or creates the first owner account when Telisky instructs them to. Invites teammates with the right role. | Uses only installer access or handoff details. Never uses a customer’s password. | Provides the correct organization, first-owner setup instructions, or a new invite when needed. |
| Router preparation | Confirms the expected site, router label, and internet plan. | Connects antennas, SIM if used, WAN if used, and power at the site. | Provides the deployment packet and support channel. |
| Internet path | Confirms whether the router should use wired internet, cellular, or both. | Checks cabling, signal, and local router status on site. | Helps with carrier/APN or provisioning issues that the customer and installer cannot resolve. |
| Cloud confirmation | Signs in to the Telisky cloud portal and confirms the router appears in the right organization. | Sends a handoff message with the router label, connection result, and time checked. | Investigates missing, wrong-organization, or stale-router cases. |
Time required and when to stop
Section titled “Time required and when to stop”Most first setups take about 15-30 minutes once the router, internet connection, and account access are ready. Cellular activation or carrier APN issues can take longer.
If you spend more than 15 minutes on the same blocked step, stop changing settings and escalate through your Telisky support channel. Include the organization or site name, router label or work order, the step you were on, and the approximate time you tried it. Do not send passwords, tokens, SIM identifiers, raw logs, or full location details in public channels.
The path
Section titled “The path”| Step | What you do | You are ready for the next step when |
|---|---|---|

| 2 | Prepare your RC500 | Antennas, SIM if needed, WAN cable if used, and power are connected. |
| 3 | Get the router online | The router has an internet path through Ethernet, cellular, or both. |
| 4 | Attach the router to the cloud, if needed | The router has accepted the MDM attach code, or your deployment was already pre-assigned. |
| 5 | Confirm cloud connection | The router appears in Devices with online status or a recent last-seen time. |
| 6 | Run the first dashboard health check | Dashboard and the router detail page show no urgent attention for the first router. |
| 7 | Know what to send support | You know which screenshots, labels, times, and recent changes to collect without sharing secrets. |
