Attach a router to the cloud

Some RC500 routers are assigned to your organization before shipment. Others are attached during setup with a short-lived MDM code. Use this page only when your Telisky contact, admin, or installer tells you to attach the router with a code.

Customer Owners and Admins, or installers working with an Owner/Admin, who need to place an on-site RC500 into the correct organization or site.

Viewers and most Members can confirm whether a router is online, but they usually cannot create attach codes.

  • A Telisky account with permission to manage devices for the target organization or site.
  • The RC500 powered on and connected to the internet through Ethernet, cellular, or both.
  • Local access to the router’s Web UI at http://192.168.4.1.
  • The router label, serial, or MAC address from the device or deployment packet.

If the SIM uses a private APN delivered through an upstream IPsec tunnel, complete Private APN and IPsec MDM connectivity before generating an attach code. The router must reach both the MDM MQTT channel and mdm-api.telisky.com through the customer internet breakout.

About 5 minutes. Attach codes are one-time use and expire quickly, so create the code when you are ready to enter it on the router.

  1. Sign in to cloud.telisky.com.
  2. Open Device attach.
  3. Choose the organization or site that should own the router.
  4. Select Generate 10-minute code.
  5. Copy the code.

If you do not see Device attach, your role may not have device write access, or your deployment may use pre-assigned routers instead. Ask an Owner/Admin or Telisky Support before changing router settings.

  1. Connect to the RC500 locally.
  2. Open http://192.168.4.1 and sign in to the local Web UI.
  3. Open ServicesMDM Connection.
  4. In Attach to Telisky Cloud, paste the MDM attach code.
  5. Select Attach router.
  6. Wait for the router to report that it is attached to Telisky Cloud.

The router sends its identifying information during attach. Telisky accepts the request only when the router matches the expected inventory record for your deployment.

After the local Web UI says the router is attached:

  1. Return to cloud.telisky.com.
  2. Open Devices.
  3. Search for the router by name, label, serial, or MAC.
  4. Confirm it appears under the expected organization or site.
  5. Open the router detail page and check status and last seen.

Next: Confirm cloud connection.
