Check these things
Section titled “Check these things”Before the update
Section titled “Before the update”- The device is online with a stable connection.
- Power will not be interrupted.
- You picked a low-impact time, because the device reboots during the update.
During the update
Section titled “During the update”- Give the device time. It downloads, applies the firmware, and reboots - this takes a while and the device is briefly offline.
- Do not power-cycle the device while it is updating.
After the update
Section titled “After the update”- Confirm the device reconnects and reports its new firmware version. See Devices.
- Check the update job status:
- Succeeded - the update completed.
- Failed - open it to read the error.
If it still does not work
Section titled “If it still does not work”- Confirm power and connectivity were stable, then retry the update. See Firmware Updates (cloud) or RC500 Firmware Updates (local).
- If the router is unreachable after a failed update, check power and the local Web UI on-site. See Router offline or silent.
- If updates keep failing, capture the device name, target version, and the job error, and contact Telisky support.
