Config Did Not Apply
What you see
Section titled “What you see”You changed a setting - directly or through a config profile - but the device does not reflect it.
What it usually means
Section titled “What it usually means”The change was sent but could not be completed: the device was unreachable, the job failed, or a risky setting interrupted the device before it finished.
Check these things
Section titled “Check these things”- Check Jobs first - open Jobs and find the job for this change. Its status tells you most of the story:
- Pending - queued; the device has not picked it up yet, often because it is offline.
- Running - still in progress; give it time.
- Failed - it could not complete; read the error.
- Canceled - it was stopped before finishing.
- Is the router online? - a setting cannot apply to a router that is not reporting. See Router offline or silent.
- Did a risky setting break the connection? - changes to internet, cellular, or VPN can knock a device off mid-change. See Router Settings - Review before applying.
- Was the profile right? - re-open the config profile and confirm the values are what you intended.
If it still does not work
Section titled “If it still does not work”- Re-apply the change after confirming the device is back online.
- For a critical device, apply one section at a time so you can tell which change caused the problem.
- If the job keeps failing with the same error, capture the device name and the error text and contact Telisky support.
