Get the router online

The RC500 must reach the internet before it can appear healthy in the Telisky cloud portal.

The person on site with the router, or the customer admin coordinating with an installer.

  • The router powered on and prepared.
  • Wired internet, an active SIM, or both.
  • Local access to the router only if the internet path does not come up automatically.
  • The credentials or setup instructions supplied with your specific device or deployment packet if local login is required.

About 5-15 minutes. Carrier activation and APN changes can take longer.

  1. Connect the upstream internet cable to the WAN port.
  2. Wait for the router to detect the connection.
  3. Confirm the Internet indicator turns on.
  4. If a device connected behind the router can browse the web, the wired path is working.
  1. Confirm the active SIM is inserted and antennas are connected.
  2. Wait for the modem to register on the carrier network.
  3. Check the Cellular and Signal indicators.
  4. If your carrier requires an APN, enter the APN in the local Web UI or cloud settings according to your deployment instructions.

If you do not know the APN, ask the cellular carrier for the APN for your data plan. Do not guess repeatedly; the wrong APN can make a good SIM look broken.

If the router does not come online automatically, connect to the router locally and open http://192.168.4.1. Sign in using the credentials supplied with your device or deployment packet.

After signing in locally:

  1. Change the local Web UI password if this is the first local login.
  2. Check WAN status if you use wired internet.
  3. Check SIM, APN, and signal status if you use cellular.
  4. Save only the settings your deployment requires.

Do not publish, forward, or reuse local router credentials. Do not share your Telisky cloud password for local setup.

You are ready for the next step when one of these is true:

  • The Internet indicator is on.
  • A device behind the router can browse the web.
  • The local Web UI shows WAN or cellular connected.

Next: Confirm cloud connection.

  • Wired internet does not work: confirm the upstream connection works with another device, if safe to test.
  • Cellular does not work: confirm SIM activation, APN, antenna placement, and signal quality.
  • Internet works locally but the portal still does not show the router: continue to Confirm cloud connection.
  • You need help: collect the items listed in Contact Telisky Support.
