Prepare your RC500
Prepare the router before you check the cloud portal. This prevents most first-setup problems.
Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”The person physically near the RC500: a customer admin, on-site technician, or installer.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- RC500 router and power supply.
- Cellular antennas and WiFi antennas supplied for your device.
- Active Nano SIM if this router will use cellular.
- Ethernet WAN cable if this router will use wired internet.
- Router label, serial, MAC, or work-order identifier supplied for your deployment.
- Your deployment packet, if Telisky or your installer provided one.

Section titled “Time required”About 10 minutes.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”Choose the internet path you expect to use:
- Wired internet only: connect Ethernet to the WAN port.
- Cellular only: insert the active SIM and connect cellular antennas.
- Wired plus cellular backup: do both.
If you do not know whether the SIM needs an APN, ask your cellular provider or Telisky contact before install day. The APN is the carrier setting that lets the SIM use mobile data.
Prepare the router
Section titled “Prepare the router”- Place the router where it has ventilation and the antennas can be mounted safely.
- Confirm the router label or work-order identifier matches the installation plan.
- With the router powered off, insert the SIM if cellular will be used.
- Connect the cellular antennas to the cellular antenna connectors.
- Connect WiFi antennas if this deployment will use local WiFi.
- Connect the WAN Ethernet cable if wired internet is available.
- Connect power.
- Wait for the router to finish starting.

What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”During startup, indicators may change as the router checks hardware and internet paths. After startup:
- Internet on means the router can reach the internet through at least one path.
- Cellular on means the modem is connected to the cellular network.
- Signal color shows cellular signal quality when cellular is in use.
Do not worry if cellular indicators stay off on a wired-only deployment.
Checkpoint
Section titled “Checkpoint”You are ready for the next step when:
- The router has power.
- The expected SIM and/or WAN cable is installed.
- Antennas are attached.
- You can identify the router by label, serial, MAC, or work order.

If you are blocked
Section titled “If you are blocked”- No indicators: check power and outlet.
- Cellular indicator stays off on a cellular deployment: check SIM insertion, SIM activation, and antennas.
- Signal stays poor: move antennas or router if possible.
- You are unsure which identifier to use: send Telisky Support a photo of the non-sensitive router label or the work-order identifier through your approved support channel.
