Internet & Cellular
What you see
Section titled “What you see”A router has no internet, or a device behind it cannot get online.
What it usually means
Section titled “What it usually means”The router has lost its internet path, or the connection it has is up but not actually carrying traffic.
Check these things
Section titled “Check these things”Wired (Ethernet WAN)
Section titled “Wired (Ethernet WAN)”- Confirm the WAN cable is connected and the upstream link (modem or router) is working.
- Confirm the WAN connection type matches what your provider expects. See Network.
Cellular
Section titled “Cellular”- Confirm a SIM is inserted (power off first) and active with your carrier.
- Check the Signal indicator and the Cellular page; relocate or improve antennas if signal is poor.
- Set the carrier APN if cellular is not connecting automatically. See Cellular & SIM.
- Confirm roaming is allowed if the SIM is being used outside its home network.
- Some plans or carriers restrict data or block certain traffic; confirm the SIM’s plan allows the use you expect.
Private APN with upstream IPsec
Section titled “Private APN with upstream IPsec”A connected SIM and established carrier/customer IPsec tunnel do not automatically provide cloud access. The customer edge must route the decrypted SIM subnet to controlled internet egress, permit Telisky MQTT and HTTPS destinations, provide DNS and correct time, apply source NAT, and allow stateful return traffic.
Use Private APN and IPsec MDM connectivity for the exact FQDN and port matrix, reference topology, firewall template, split/full-tunnel designs, MTU/MSS checks, and verification sequence.
CGNAT (inbound connections fail on cellular)
Section titled “CGNAT (inbound connections fail on cellular)”Many cellular plans use CGNAT, where the carrier does not give the router a publicly reachable address. Outbound internet works, but inbound connections such as port forwarding cannot reach the router. If you need inbound access on cellular, ask your carrier about a public or static IP option.
Upstream WiFi
Section titled “Upstream WiFi”If the router uses another WiFi network as its uplink, confirm that network is up and the credentials are correct. See Upstream WiFi.
If it still does not work
Section titled “If it still does not work”- Try the failover order: if you have more than one connection, confirm the router falls over correctly. See Network - failover.
- If signal and SIM look fine but cellular never connects, capture the carrier, APN, signal quality, and any support bundle Telisky Support requested, then contact Telisky Support.
