Cloud Portal vs Local Web UI
There are two ways to manage an RC500: the cloud portal at cloud.telisky.com and the local Web UI on each router at http://192.168.4.1. Both refer to the router, but they are not identical tools.
- Use the cloud portal when you are managing devices remotely, checking history, scheduling reports, inviting users, or making guided changes that can run as jobs.
- Use the local Web UI when you are physically on-site, setting up a new router, checking local WAN/cellular/DNS status, using a local firmware file or URL, or fixing a router that cannot reach the cloud.
Which one should I use?
Section titled “Which one should I use?”| Need | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor many devices at once | Cloud portal | One screen shows every device’s status, last seen, and connection health. |
| Change one router while on-site | Local Web UI | You are already in front of the device; changes apply immediately without waiting on a cloud job. |
| Push one setting to many routers | Cloud portal | Apply a config profile to a group or a staged rollout instead of touching each router by hand. |
| Fix a router with no cloud connection | Local Web UI | The local Web UI works even when the router has no internet or cannot reach Telisky. |
| Invite or manage organization users | Cloud portal | People, roles, and organizations live in the cloud, not on individual routers. |
| Change DNS, hostname, or local password on-site | Local Web UI | These are local setup and recovery tasks when you are next to the router. |
| Update firmware from a URL | Local Web UI, or Telisky API/support workflow | The customer cloud page uses approved cloud firmware options; URL updates need an approved URL and checksum and are not a general cloud form. |
Working with both
Section titled “Working with both”Most teams set a router up on-site with the local Web UI, then manage it from the cloud afterward. If an on-site change and the cloud view look out of step, check the router’s latest status and the relevant job before changing more settings. Cloud Router Settings can send guided changes to an online router; local-only diagnostics and support tools remain in the local Web UI or support/API workflows.
